My daughter is got into a very bad habit of biting other kids. She has fun when others screams. I have been trying to stop her but whenever I am not around she would just bite others. I really wonder what fun she gets in such thing.
It is so embarrassing for me, getting complaints from her playschool as well. What do I do?
You need to get her into some situation which she may not like. Maybe she bites something that is hard or something which has a bad taste. I think this might force her to stop.
Most of the kids bite at this age and it is mostly to express their anger. You need to handle the situation very carefully and calmly. Let your child calm down and the make her say "Sorry". Try to enforce a positive attitude in your child. Whenever she does not bite in an adverse situation make sure to praise her about her good behavior. This will definitely help.
You to take an immediate action if you are present at the place where your child bites. Immediately remove him and make her stand in a corner away from friends and play for a short duration of 1-2 mins. I am sure it is difficult for a toddler to stand at a place even for this short duration. Keep this going for some days.
Hope this helps you getting your child to behave well.
Time out is what I use with my son for any such behavior and I would suggest you to try it out.
