Now a days I have seen kids start writing English alphabets by the age of 3. My daughter was a bit late. She is 4 and half years old and now she can write a lot of English alphabets.

I was wondering whether I should start teaching her to write Hindi letters. Though I feel that writing Hindi letter are much more difficult. Do kids of this age know how to write Hindi letters.

Both my son and elder daughter started writing Hindi only after they were 5 years old. But now seems kids have become smarter. My younger daughter who is 4 years old can writing all the English alphabets and recently they have started teaching her to write Hindi at school.

So, seems now schools are teaching things early.

My elder son started writing Hindi letters when he was about 5 years old. By that time he could write all the capital and small English letters well.

I agree writing Hindi is difficult much aren't we making a big issue of it. Our parents and infact many people in our generation must have studied Hindi as their first language. I taught my son to write both Hindi and English simultaneously.

Y do we want our kids to do everything so early. Do you moms remember when did you write your first letter. I did only after the age of 4 years and now we want our kids to be super kids and be experts.
Let them do things when they are ready for it. I am sure your kid will not lag back.

i had similar thinking, genie. And in fact my daughter started late. She only started when i was looking for admission to school and i realized that she was too far behind. i think she was as good as anyone when when it came to general awareness and common sense.
in the end our children need to go to same school as others. they need to learn from same teachers. so i think you should teach them what is expoected in school. otherwise they are not mature to understand that they are good. instead they will start thinking they are bad and others are good. this will affect their confidence level.

Now that everything is moving fast. We need to keep our kids in race so always try to keep them up to the mark. Now a days I have seen 3 years kids writing most of the capital alphabets so I have started teaching my daughter to write. Infact I am planning to start teaching written Hindi in a few months.
