My daughter is already 14 months old and she is not able to walk on her own though she does walk when we hold her from both the sides. My son did walk when she was just 11 months old. Is there something that could be wrong and what can be done to correct it.
If your daughter is walking if you hold her hands its just a fear inside her that she is not walking independently. You need to find a way to remove this fear from her mind. And for this a simple way is to attract her attention to catch something while she is walking and while she is busy walking to get hold of the thing you leave her hand. I think this technique works in many other things.
Hope this helps.
My son has just turned 1 and he started walking just on his Birthday. He started walking all of a sudden we were expecting him to be delayed in walking. Mostly kids do things all of a sudden so do not worry too much and am sure your child will walk soon.
Do not worry too much am sure you child walk soon on her own. Just give her some confidence. Some kids hesitate due to the scare of falling.
I remember my nephew started walking on his own only when he was 18 months old and he had no physical issue just that first time when he started walking at 14 months of age he just fell and hurt himself so badly that he did not want to walk at all. It took him another 4 months to start walking independently.
