My son is 4 years old and I have a feeling that this is the age at which a child can get into the habit of trying to know why and how things are happening around him. I am trying to help my child intellectual development. Any clues how this can be done. Please help me out.
bivanathani you are very right this is the age a child starts exploring how & why for things. What I have been doing with my child are:
1. Whenever she starts doing something on her own I never guide her through I help her with tips when she is giving up so that she can finish what she started and has a feeling of achievement.
2. One of the day meals i.e. evening snacks I let her decide what she wants to have.
3. I try to praise & encourage whenever I see that she has been achieving some small things.
Some games which you play with your child can help your child. Some of the things that I play with my daughter and find helpful are:
1. Different types of puzzles - start with simple one and go on making it complex.
2. Construction toys like Lego - this helps your child get idea of shapes and size and gives him an opportunities to put their ideas in building something they see or think of.
3. Some memory games like you can have somethings in a tray and remove one thing and ask your child whats missing.
I am sure this can be helpful. Give it a try.
