My daughter is 21 months old and as of now she can speak a few words like "Ma", "Papa" etc. etc. I am wondering if at this age its enough to speak these words. Should I be helping her learn more words or let her learn things on an ongoing basis with our day to day conversation.

You do not need to anything extra apart from your regular talks with your child. Just make sure that you do not baby talk with your child instead your talks should be clear and direct. Yes but the conversations should be frequent. This will help improve your child's verbal skills and I can tell you from my experience that there is nothing more in your child's development.

As far as I know at this age kids can speak 2 words phrases. Mostly its expected that kids should speak sentences by 2 years of age its the right age to talk as much to your child gets a good vocabulary and pronunciation.

My son started speaking only when he was 2 yrs old and I was really worried. I thought that my son had some problem but all the doctors suggested that some kids do have delayed speech. And once my son started speaking till date he does not stop once he starts.

Just keep talking to your child and he will be picking up things on his own.
