My son is 4 years old and he is very interested in drawing and coloring. I feel that it is the right time to get him trained so that he can improve his skills. Am looking for a teacher but not sure what type of teacher would be helpful. Should I look for someone who is already training for some good painter. If a trainer then I am sure the trainer should be good at teaching a child.

In my view for such a young child it is very important that you should get someone who is good at teaching kids. There is a difference in the way one teaches a kid and when teaching an adult.

I do not know about painting but I do know one thing that a teacher who teaches only adults cannot be good for kids. As kids need special attention and the teacher should be kids friendly. As kids learn things only if they enjoy the company of the teacher.

From my experience I can tell you any teacher is not good for kids. My son also loves coloring and when he was 5 years old I got a good painter to teach him and after a couple of months I saw that my son was loosing interest in coloring instead to learning new things. Immediately I stopped his classes and after about 6 months I got him a painting teacher who used to teach painting for kids and I can tell you it clicked.

My nephew who is 5 has started learning drawing & Coloring. And what I have seen his teacher is doing is, first he is teaching basics like how to draw a proper circle a straight line from one end of page to the other in one stretch etc. etc. About coloring also he is telling how exactly we are supposed to move the hands.
I found it really good as its very important to start from the very basics. A child does not have any preset things to do things do he/she can be taught nicely how to do things form basics. I am also planning get my daughter trained with this teacher.
