Mostly I have been giving sambhar & rice or curry & rice to my daughter. I was wondering if I can give her chapatis to eat. Will she be able to chew that. Any moms here offers chapatis to their kids of this age. My daughter does eat dosas but thats soft.
My thinking is that you should give everything to your child so that he is used to all kinds of food from childhood. Otherwise he will find it difficult to adjust to different food later. You can give chapatties but make it soft. In the beginning you could give chaptties with milk/dal/shambhar.
Try to give chapattis but do not force your child for any particular food otherwise he will start hating it. This is what my experience says.
I started giving roti/chapatis to my son once he was 2 yrs old. He did not want to chew at all before that so I waited till he was 2.
My son is 23 months old and he just doe not like to eat chapattis so I do not force him to eat. Maybe I will give it a try after couple of months. I think as far as you are giving your child a balanced diet its not important that you give chapattis
You made some first rate points there. I looked on the web for the difficulty and found most people will go along with with your website.
I have been feeding pranthas (stuffed chapati), chapatis, rice to my son since he was 15 months. Chapati is our staple diet and kids should be fed similar food as adults minus spices. They are able to chew small pieces and may take ages to finish their meals.
You are so right. I also started feeding my daughter most of the things that we eat. Just that we had to change our diet to less spicy food like hers
