My baby is 4 months old and now breast milk does not fill her stomach. Recently I have started giving her formula once or twice. But as of now she drinks only little formula at a time. Many times the formula goes waste as I throw away the left formula. I am just wondering that can I put the prepared formula in the refrigerator and use it later?
As far as I know you should not refrigerate the prepared formula. Use it within couple of hours of preparation. If your baby drinks little then prepare less formula at a time and prepare more on need.
My daughter is 3 months old and due to some health issues for a week I was not able to feed her so I used formula. And I never used the formula once prepared after 2 hrs of preparation. I think for baby's we should be take precautions so that they do not get any infections.
You should not keep the prepared formula milk outside of refrigerator but you can keep it in refrigerator for not more than 24 hour and make sure you heat it before using it for your baby.
If you prepare the formula using powder you should refrigerate it immediately and use it within 24 hrs from the time you have prepared it.
You can use refrigerated formula fir upto 24 hours. I have been doing this as my daughter's diet is very unpredictable, sometimes she finishes full bottles and wants more and sometimes she will just have few sips and then not want any more. So, I refrigerate the prepared formula and reheat it before offering it to my daughter.
