My 16 months old daughter has always been a fussy eater. I have always been forcing her to eat. But recently since last one week if I ask her to eat she will simply try to hide away and on forcing food after having food she will just throw out all her food. And this is not for one meal she does this each time I feed her. She is not even ready to drink milk.
My husband suggested me to just don't give her any thing to eat for a meal but even this does not seem to work.
I need some innovative ideas to make my daughter eat.
I would suggest you not to force food for kids. This way the child looses interest in food. Its better not to give them food rather than forcing. This is what I believe and do.
kangana, from what you have said it seems that your daughter does not seem to show any interest in food. And its very much possible that she is vomiting just to show her denial for food.
As suggested by 1mummy2 stop force feeding. Offer her food at meal time and once the time is over just remove the food. Similarly you should do for all the meals. Do not give anything apart from 4 times of food (breakfast, lunch, snacks & dinner). This will make your daughter realize that if she is not having food in time she will have to be hungry. If she has any meals properly reward her this way she will get interested in food also.
Even after this if your daughter is vomiting please do consult a doctor.
You need to create interest in food. Try to make the food interesting like for your daughter like may be you can make some face out of the chapatis that you offer her. Another thing you can do is there might be some specific eatables which your daughter might be liking as my son likes sauce so I put a little sauce on his chapatis and add butter to his rice and he loves it.
I know how difficult it would be for u kangana. But I will still advise u not to force ur kid into eating. Additionally, you can just try ignoring ur daughter at meal time and continue with ur meal. Sometimes children get tired of all the attention they get and it helps to ignore them.
kangana may be you can try changing the food that you give to your child instead of giving the same dal/sambhar, rice, roti everyday. Change the rice to pulao or lemon rice etc. Similarly instead of roti maybe some stuffed paratha etc. Different vegetables each day. This might help.
