Wish all of you here a very Happy Dussehra.
With the festival season around I am be busy sure everyone might be busy with puja and other celebrations. I have also been performing my pujas and this time tried to involve my 4 years old in the daily rituals still I feel the gap. The way we used to celebrate festivals with parents and how we new every story for all the festivals and the way we used to respect things.
How can we nourish same values in our kids. What are todays moms doing. I would like to know from everyone here.
Same to you. Not much happening here at our place. in my hometown, this is huge. Almost everyone wears new clothes. I still remember when i was small child, our parents used to buy new clothes and a new toy for all of us
I miss those days.
wish everyone at babymomstreet a very happy dushehra.
a very happy dussera to you all.
Wish everyone a very Happy Dussara.
This time after a long time I spent the festival with my parents in my hometown.
It was fun and my kids got to experience the way I experienced this festival.
bulbul, you are so right in pointing that these days kids do not get to know the rituals and the stories for the festivals. This time when my mom was telling the story of how Rama ended Ravana and how Ma Durga ended the reigns of Mahisasura I realised how important these stories are. And I felt that my kids really loved knowing these so I suppose we parents are at fault in not exposing our kids to this aspect of our lives.
Happy Dusshera.
My daughter knows the story for most of the festivals and she loves listening to it again and again.
Dusshera was great this time. Though we were not with our extended family we did visit some Goddess temple and also went around to see some idols. My son enjoyed the shopping around the festival. And he was all exited to watch "Ravana Vadh" on the TV.
I did prepared some delicacies which we all relished together.
While showing Ravana Vadh on TV I did tell my son about the story behind. Its true that these days kids are not very well informed about our culture but schools are also taking initiatives tome make e kids understand these festivals with celebrations at school.
