Happy Deepavali to all of you and family...
Am just curious to know how the moms out here are planning to celebrate this festival of lights with there dear kids.
Will you light diyas. How will you tell your kids about this festival. Will you fire crackers? And lastly How will you make this Deepavali safe for your kids?

Thanks eva!
My daughter has been desperately waiting for this festival and so have we:)
We will definitely light the entire house with diyas. Our evening begins with prayer to Goddess Laxmi, followed by lightning the house. We then go to a common open compound in our locality where all the families in the neighborhood gather to light crackers.

Thank you eva and wish you the same..
I have told my son (he is 3 and 1/2 yrs) that the festival of lights is celebrated as Lord Rama returned after defeating the demon Ravan on this day. Also, this festival tells us that truth always wins over evil.

We do light a few crackers but I will advise never to leave your children unattended on this day even if they are not burning crackers. You never know what can happen as there are crackers being burnt everywhere.

Thanks and wish all Moms & kids a very happy Diwali
I have been telling my son that Diwali is coming and on that day he will get new dress and we will be doing Ganesh Lakshmi Puja, light our house with candles and diyas and fire some crackers.

My son likes candles and is waiting for new dress. I am not a fan of crackers and I think that its bad for environment. But I will make my son fire some to make him acquainted with the celebrations.

Wish you all lots of happiness on Deepavali!!
I am personally against use of firecrackers because of the pollution it creates and also because of the employment of kids in the factories that make these crackers. We enjoy by decorating our house and also visit some friends.

a very happy and prosperous diwali to you and your family.

i am surprised to see the awareness among kids on making the planet green and not playing with crackers. i know once they have it they all will go out and have a blast. but the fact that they are thinking like that is great.
i plan to limit the use of crackers. who knows few years from now i may also go with some other green parents and completely get away from crackers.
