Recently my father-in-law expired and 4 years old son is asking me questions what happened to him and why people were crying. I tried to keep him away but still he saw people take the dead body and he is totally confused. He asks me for explanations of whats going on.
What do I tell him?

You can tell him that his grandpa did so many great things for his family and him like he played with him etc. Now there is some other world where there are many more kids who wants to play with him and he has to be there.

You can tell him that there is one more world apart from where we live and his grandfather has gone to the other world. On this he might have more questions. You can tell that every person has to live in this world for sometime and then go to the other world.

I am sure your son has been listening to stories about God so definitely he can understand that his grand father has gone to God. He might already be having imaginations like God lives in sky etc etc so he will relate it like that guess.
