I have been giving rice to my kid for lunch and chapattis for dinner. But my kid is thin and whatever I do I am not able to get him in better health. Recently a kid of mine suggested to give rice both for lunch and dinner. Is this correct that rice might help my child have better health?
I am not very sure about it but yes any food with carbohydrate helps gain weight. Why don't you give it a try.
balanced diet is important. give her both rice and chapati. this will also help in developing her taste for both rice and chapati. otherwise she will create problem later.
Rice has carbohydrate and it may be heplful for gain in weight.

I give rice for lunch and chapatties for dinner to my son and I believe that a balanced food is always good.
My daughter loves eating rice. She does not show any interest in roti. So I give her rice for both meals just because of her choice. Am not sure whether it helps gain weight. My daughter is not plump but is ok for her age.
A child should have a balanced diet apart from that if a child if active and eating well do not worry a lot about weight gain. Just make sure your child has all his meals properly. Rice or chapati give whatever he likes.
best thing is to follow what you are used to eating. depending on which part of India you are from, your food habits will be different. Just follow that because if you change then you will not be able to follow for long. and then your child will be in bigger trouble. he will have different food habits than all others in your family members. so you will need to cook twice.
