My son is just 2 weeks old and he has been diagnosed with jaundice. Though doctors are saying its mild and we came to hospital on right time, I am really concerned.

Has any mom out here experienced such a problem. If so please share your exp with me.

first of all congratulation to the site moderator for starting this forum.

and then congratulation to chimi14 for your baby.

my baby had same issue. and i was worried as well. all i could speak to was a doctor. and in india you never trust a doctor because they usually delay the bad news. that made me really worried. i did not come across a forum like this where i could listen to opinions of other moms.

don't worry at all if doctor has said so. many babies have jaundice at this time. i forgot the whole detail. but this is very common and has something to do with red and while blood cells. she will be fine soon.

i think doctor would have suggested you to watch out for any development. just monitor that.

good luck.

Most of the babies do have mild jaundice when they are born because of high level of bilirubin. Mostly this disappears on its own within a couple of weeks.

But keep a watch if the bilirubin level does not go down (the baby's body look yellowish) within a couple of weeks do consult the doc soon.

My daughter has to go through light treatment for this as I was not that careful to visit the doctor on time so better be careful.
