My daughter is 15 months old and today morning I saw that her stool is green. I was told by elders that babies do pass different colors of stool but it was so with my daughter till she was about 7 months old. After that she has been passing proper stool. Now what could be the reason for this green color of stool?
If your child is eating more of green vegetables that could be the cause for the green color of stool. And it should not be a matter of concern
Mostly its got to do with the food eaten but to be on the safe side why don't you go ahead and consult the doctor.
Green stool is mostly not considered abnormal. It maybe because of the food intake as mentioned by others.
Another reason could be related to amount of bile in the stool. Due to variety of body's gastrointestinal health the bile can cause the stool to be of different shades of yellow to green, as bile is yellowish green in color.

Really a good info. Was not aware of it.
The reason may be diet but if the color of stool does not get back to normal within a couple of days then its always a good idea to consult a doctor. Sometimes this condition may arise due to some intestinal infection.
Whenever I include some spinach in my child's food the stool is green
