My daughter is now around 17 months. His skin if very dry. I live in a place where winter is not severe. Still her skin gets very dry. I apply body lotion every day at least 2 times. But the effect does not remain for more than one hour. Is there something better than Johnson's baby lotion.
Please also tell me there is any home developed lotion or cream that i should try. She itches a lot. And I think it is because of her dry skin.
Try applying Vaseline.
You can try massaging your baby's body with Olive Oil twice a day before bath. This helps keep the skin smooth. But if the dry skin problem is turning in eczema better visit his doctor.
My younger one has very dry skin and Johnson baby lotion was not that effective then his doctor suggested Cetaphil and I have found it very effective.
Cetaphil did the job for my baby as well. I have come across quite a few moms using this for dry skin and mostly on doctor's recommendation.
What I do is I give Oil massage to my son twice before bath along with Johnson & Johnson lotion after bath. This has helped keeping his skin soft in winter as well.
