Hand Foot & Mouth disease

My 2 years old recently got some rashes on his palm and sole. First I thought it was just some allergy but when it did not go in a day I consulted his pediatrician and came to know that he has hand foot and mouth disease. I never heard of this disease before so thought will share it.
Will be good if we share what we know about this disease.
Last year my nice also got this disease. She was 2 years old and that was the first time I heard of this disease.
Its a viral disease so there is no such medicine for it. It goes on its own in 1 to 2 weeks time. Only thing doctors do is he gives medicines to take care of the pains and fever etc. due to this.
I think this is the season for Hand Foot and Mouth disease. My nephew is also suffering from this. And I know about this disease before I have a child
I did not hear about this before. Good I got to know about it. Can it be infectious to a baby also? I am scared about my 8 months old. This is the season I think I need to be careful.
I never heard about this disease before. This is the first time I have come across this disease. After knowing the details it appears to be something similar to measles & chicken pox.
Last month my 3 yrs old daughter also got infected with this disease and his pediatrician strictly asked me to keep her at home. This is an infectious disease and it can be spread via blister fluid or stool.
It very easily gets transmitted from one kid to another. Its always good to keep the infected child at home till she is fully cured.
I have heard about this disease for the first time. If would be great if you could share some information on what precautions should I take to prevent our child from getting infected with this disease.
