reason for not vaccinating

Is there any reason in favour of not vaccinating a child at all? One of my friend lives in US. I was talking to her over the weekend. And she says that there are quite a few parents in US, who prefer not to vaccinate their child. She gave me some reason like having some adverse effect on body. But i do not think she was clear about the reason. she was certainly sure about mother who have not vaccinated their kids.
Does anyone know is this is true? if yes then what are the reasons?

Not many have a choice even if you would like to. Many countries will not allow you to enter their country in case children have not gone through proper vaccination for that age.
i am not sure about reasons related to health. in my mind, a child who is not vaccinated has greater chances of catching one of those diseases. i think in western countries chances may be less because of cleanliness and lifestyle. but in India we cannot even think of not vaccinating.

In India its just not safe to let your child be without any vaccination. I am not sure about Western countries. They might not face such problems as there cleanliness is maintained and many diseases are already eradicated.

Some reason why one should not vaccinate

1.There is no scientific study to determine whether vaccines have really prevented diseases. Rather disease graphs show vaccines have been introduced at the fag end of epidemics when the disease was already in its last stages. In case of Small Pox the vaccine actually caused a great spurt in the incidence of disease before public outcry led to its withdrawal.

2.There are no long-term studies on vaccine safety. Very short-term tests are carried out where the vaccinated subjects are checked against another group who are given another vaccine. Technically the tests should be carried out against a non-vaccinated group. No one really knows what protocols are followed at such industry-sponsored trials.

3.There has never been any official attempt to compare a vaccinated population against a non vaccinated population to know what vaccines are doing to the children and the society. Independent private studies (Dutch & German) have revealed that vaccinated children suffer much more than their un-vaccinated counterparts.

4.The child receives not one but many vaccines. There are no tests to determine the effects of multiple vaccines.

5.There is no scientific basis for vaccinating infants. As per senior doctors quoted by the Times of India, “Children suffer from less that 2% of vaccine preventable illnesses but 98% of the vaccines are targeted towards them.” The vaccine pioneers who have recommended abundant caution before vaccinating the population have never advocated mass vaccinations.

6.Children are vaccinated simply because parents can be frightened to forcefully vaccinate their children. Vaccinating infants is the most profitable business both for the manufacturers as well as the doctors.

A very informative article but still I think I am for vaccinating not against.

  • binisha

This is the first time I have come across someone suggesting against vaccination otherwise I have just heard people suggesting what new vaccinations have been added to the list and what I might be missing by not getting my child vaccinated.

  • mahika

gisti thanks for connecting to such an informative article but still being in India I do not know how much I can trust this article as we can see every month Polio vaccine being administered to kids. Should I take in such a way that some of the vaccines may not be necessary or is it so with all the vaccines.

  • parup

I have also been thinking if some new vaccines like Hepatitis A and all are needed or not. The article specified by gisti does make me feel that all these vaccines are worthless. But still I cannot accept that I do not get my child vaccinated for some basic things like polio Diptheria etc.

  • liveink

A very interesting fact gisti loved to go through it. But like other am still not convinced about not vaccinating staying in a country like India.

  • anaher

Can vaccines really harm my baby instead of being good.

  • buggybun

Quite an interesting input but still its just a thought for my mind as to what to do foe furthur Booster doses.
