What can be the reason for frequent cough?

Hi,
I am new to this site and I saw some very good discussions out here. Hope I do get some help with my kids problem. My daughter is more than 3 years old and she keeps getting cough and cold frequently. Since she was a baby she has been having this problem.
I do take extra care like giving her hot bath whenever season is a lil cold and putting some warm clothes on for her. But nothing much seems to work. Every month she keeps getting cough. Anyone out here faced some similar issues. If so how did u find a remedy. Please help.
My son had similar problem but he had it hereditary as my husband is also allergic. Its something which doctors call ATOPY. My son's pediatrician has said that it will go till 10 years of age. Doc even mentioned that its better to get in the early stages of life. If one gets this cold allergy in later stage that remains life long.
charlie, I will suggest you to consult a doctor for your daughter.
Sometimes frequent change in weather affects a child. Another thing that might be if you are travelling a lot the water change also causes this.
My daughter had similar problems and I consulted a homeopathic doc for this. He gave some medicine for 6 months and I see lot of improvements in my daughter.
My son also get cold & cough every season change I have started giving him Chawanprash as suggested by one of my friend. She said it has some Ayurvedic stuff which helps increase the resistance of the child's body.
