My son does not goto sleep before 11pm. And in my talk with my friends I find all mom having similar worries about their children going late to bed. But recently I talked to one of my friend who lives abroad and she said that her kids are on bed by 8:30pm. This really makes me think what could be the issue with the children in India. Would really like to know your views on this.

I put my son to bed around 9 pm and he take atleast an hour to sleep. So, the earliest that he is off to sleep is 10pm. But some day it is midnight before he sleeps. I have even tried putting him to bed earlier but he will in no way sleep before 10.

My son used to be the same previously. But now he is improving. What I do is give him dinner at 8pm. Then let him sit with me and listen to story. Then I give him milk. At this time his stomach is full and he is little lazy. I put him to bed immediately with all the lights in the house turned off except night lamp. He goes off to sleep within 30 mins max.

The main thing is do not let your kid be very active atleast within half an hour before you are going to put him to bed.

My kids go to bed by 9pm and are asleep max by 9:30. Though my kids are older now but when my son was 2 years old since that time I have set up the right routine. I have been putting him to bed at 9pm and in the beginning he took longer to go to sleep slowly he settled down.

My daughter is 8 months old and at night she sleeps very late sometimes its midnight before she sleeps. But I think this is because she sleeps a lot during daytime. Its so irritating when people are awake to play with her she likes to sleep and when I really need some sleep she wants to play with me.

Sleep seems to a problem for all moms these days. My feeling is that because of the changed routine of we as parents our children also sleep late. About a month back my son also got into the habit of sleeping late at night. I realised the problem lied with our routine. So, I have changed my routine to match with his. I switch off all the lights and get in bed when I put him to bed then he is assured that its sleeping time for everyone and now he is off to sleep by 9pm.
Once he is asleep I finish remaining households etc.

My 15 months old daughter is very active. Even though all of us go to bed with her she will like to do something on her own. She can just play with pillow and her teddy for hours. I have cur short her nap time so that she sleeps well at night. After that she sleeps at 10pm and wakes up between 7 to 8 am so she ends up having almost 10 hours of sleep at night.
