i don't think it will easier in India. i think even children without special needs are not taken care of well. most doctors do not take any interest in patients.

and your friends' child will not only need some medicines. he/she will need a doctor who tries to understand the development and then suggest treatment. ask them to first find out such a doctor who they can trust for next 5-10 years before landing up in India.

I don't think its an easy task to support a special child in India. I have a cousin who has specially settled abroad because here she could not get proper setup of instruments and also some dedicated nurse for her daughter. She never wanted to leave India but she had to do so if she wanted her child to survive.

May be conditions have improved now but plz suggest your friend to get things clarified and in place before he plans to come. Or the best would be to visit India and check on his own.

Its not at all possible. Actually there are good doctors but there are hardly few good hospitals with all facilities and that to how well sanitized it is I wonder. Definitely its our country and we love it but its a big fact that we still do not have enough to meet the needs of some special need children or adults.

If one is in a country where he can have a good facility for his special child why come back here.
