Will a walker be helpful for my baby in learning to walk?

My son is 10 months old and he can stand properly but he is not showing any interest in walking. Many a times I have got suggestions to put him in a walker and he will learn to walk. But somehow personally I am not convinced with the idea.
Will the walker really be helpful. If yes what kind of walker should I buy. There is one in which the baby is put and a frame surrounds him. Another one is something like a cart being put by the baby. Will be greatful if moms give me some idea at this front.
I think a walker definitely helps. I have given a walker to my son. I have seen improvement in his walk. He is 11 months old and he could not walk so I gave him a walker.
I do not think that walker is of any help. Infact it hampers the proper development of a baby's muscles.
From my knowledge walker does not help in walking anyway. In fact I have come across articles which states that walker can delay a baby's walking by about a month. A baby learns to walk by observing his legs and feet movemevents but if they are put in the traditional walker they are not able to see their legs at all.
I agree. The best thing is to let our baby get the skills at its own speed and in the natural way.
Never buy a walker for your baby. I did this mistake and will never suggest anyone to do the same. I did buy a walker for my son thinking he will learn to walk faster and he will be safer in the walker while I am busy with my work. The walker was of no use in helping to walk instead my son met with and accident. He fell down from the stairs as he was in the walker and suddenly it speed up and the baby did not have any control.
I have given a walker to my 9 months old but I did not see any use of it in walking. Its just makes the baby go out of control. I find my baby in better controlof her legs if she is left alone without the walker.
I do not know till what extent walker was useful but I did give a walker to my daughter and she started walking in a months time. But yes I gave the walker which has a rod to hold and the child can push it. Something similar to the walker we used to have in our time made of wood.
