I have been trying to conceive for a year and after getting several test done have come to know that I have some thyroid problems. Now I am not sure if this could have anything to do with my fertility. In what ways can thyroid problem affect my fertility. Has anyone here gone through any such problem.

Thyroid problems causes an imbalance in some hormones which can in turn affect a woman's menstrual cycle thus may hamper fertility in some way.

From what I know untreated thyroid problems can hinder fertility. But once detected and treated one can easily have a baby.

When there is some problem with the thyroid the body's reproductive hormones balance is upset which in turn affects ovulation. Sometimes there is total absence of ovulation leading to infertility.

I am also trying for a baby and I got full checkup done. During my talk with the gynecologist she told me that having an underactive thyroid can hamper the normal ovulation and so it may become difficult to get pregnant.
To have a proper ovulation one need to get the throxine level to normal before you start planning for the baby.
