i am thinking of permanent contraception. almost decided on tubectomy.
but i do not have support from home. my mother or in-law cannot stay with me for more than a week. at max they can stretch to 2 weeks.
will that be enough to go through this operation?
that is why i am looking for information on how much rest is needed after the tubectomy operation.
please help

it is like any regular operation.
you will need complete rest for at least 3-4 days.
even after that you will need to be careful and do as little work as possible for at least 3 months. lifting any heavy thing is completely out of question for 3 months.
why don't you hire a maid to do all the chore. that way you can manage with initial 2 weeks of your mother staying with you.

i think you should be fine in 2 weeks. you will not have to stay in hospital for more than 48 hrs. after than 2 weeks of rest at home.
but you should not be doing heavy duty physical work for some more time.

2 weeks is too less time to recover from severe fever.
being completely fit after a tubectomy is too much to ask for. 3 months of rest is needed. this is true with more operations that require incision.
the longer she rests now the better her life will be in future. otherwise she will be through pains every now and then.

i hope you have considered various options.
you can opt for laparoscopic tubectomy or surgery tubectomy. each has its own plus and minuses.
laparoscopic tubectomy results in smaller incision compared to surgery tubectomy. however not many places have facility for laparoscopic tubectomy.
if you done your homework then great. otherwise pl. speak to the doctor and understand from him about both of them.
