In vitro Fertilization. Its an option to have baby if one cannot conceive. The sperm from the male partner and egg from the female partner is used to produce embryos in the lab. This embryo is then implanted in the uterus which grows in the baby.
It is a way to have deal with infertility. If a lady is not able to conceive IVF i.e. In-vitro Fertilization is used to have baby. The following steps are followed for IVF
Ovulation Induction
Retrieval
Collecting and preparing the sperm
Insemination of eggs and embryos culture
Transferring embryos to the uterus
dmonty, actually test tube baby is a term used for IVF. As in IVF the fertilization takes place in a test tube outside the mother's body and that is why the term. IVF stands for In Vitro Fertilization involves taking the egg from mother's body and sperm from father's body and fertilizing them outside in a fluid medium in a test tube. The fertilized egg is then transferred back in the mother's body expecting it to lead to a successful pregnancy.
Now I do understand that Test Tube baby is same as IVF am wondering how successful this method is. What are the chances that a person trying to have a baby through IVF will deliver a healthy baby.
