I have been trying to have a baby for sometime. Recently during a discussion with friends I came to know that proper weight is also important for getting pregnant. I am wondering if weight is the cause for me not able to conceive.
Give me inputs on what would be the ideal weight for pregnancy.
I want to make sure that my weight is such that I am able to loose the pregnancy weight soon after delivery as I want to have a proper figure post baby.
In my knowledge being overweight does have some affects in getting pregnant. And if you are overweight before pregnancy it will be very difficult to get in shape after delivery.
Try to get your weight to what is required for your height. If you are overweight try to reduce it. Or maybe try to increase it as being underweight also would be difficult to conceive and if you conceive being underweight you might not be able to have a very healthy pregnancy.
Its easier to conceive if you have are healthy and have your weight in range. Your Body Mass Index should be in the range of below 20 or above 30 to get pregnant easily.
Its hard getting pregnant if you are underweight or overweight. So, better get your weight in the required range before trying for a baby.
I was underweight before getting pregnant and on doctor's advice I had to gain weight and ge my weight to right BMI for me to be able to conceive.
For this my deitician had specified a diet for me which I followed strictly for about 6 months.
I am underweight and all my efforts of gaining weight has not been a success till now. And our efforts to conceive is also not working. I am really worried.
YamI thanks for your input about consulting a dietitian and will try to consult one asap.
Definitely a tough job. All the best and give you best.
