need advice on BPO job

hi,
i used to think that in all BPO jobs i will need to make phone calls or receive phone calls and provide answers to queries.
but recently i was reading that there are some BPO jobs, which are office jobs. the only difference being the work is for some other company.
does this make sense? is this true?
need advice from someone who is more familiar.

i think i can answer your question. i have worked in BPO for 3 years.
you are right about the work. call centre type of jobs are many, but there are many other regular jobs in BPO company. you put it in better way than i can. the work that you will do will be for other company. but the type of work will be regular work. like doing some research, processing payrolls or even recruitment for other companies.
find out the type of job before you say yes. there are many recruiters who do not understand complete detail. he may tell you somewhich which is not true. he may not wannt to cheat you but only because he does not understand.

Yes BPOs do research jobs and other jobs as well. BPO does not only mean a call center job. That is one type of work that BPO does. One of my friend is doing some research job for some pharma company abroad.
