I am in my early stages of pregnancy and still working. Planning to take a break from 7th month onwards. I am unable to decide whether I should return to work after my delivery and if yes how soon. Can you share your experiences and pros/ cons of both. Thanks in advance.

I have delivered 3 weeks back and as of now I am on maternity leave. I am planning to be with my baby till he is 3 months old. I was working till one week before delivery as I did not have much of complications. I have my in laws there to take care of my baby. So, I suppose I can go back to work.

In India I do not think one can get a maternity leave of more than 2-3 months. So, if you plan to work you have to go back to work after 3 months. From my little experience I can just say that go back to work only if you have some family to look after your child. You cannot just trust anyone for your precious one.

like chimi said, both parents working will require someone to stay at home and take care of the baby. when the baby gets to a year then you daycare will be an option. not now certainly.

if you are living in metro like delhi then chances are your job may require 2-3 hours of travel in a day. if you are in IT job then days will be longer at work. so someone at home is certainly needed.

I plan to be a 'stay at home' mom once I have a kid. I don't think I can trust anyone to raise my child. How can I miss my kid's first step, the first word it speaks and so many new discoveries?

I don't intend to offend anyone here!! Hope you understand.
