which profession allows quality time with your spouse and kids?
This question is for working parents or those who used to work and have later quit.
You must have felt that you could have spent more time with your kids if you were into certain profession.
in fact even the parents who have never taken a job must have thought at certain point that taking some of the jobs wouldn't have taken their time away from their kids.
at the end of this discussion let's try to come out with top 3 profession for working parents.
not sure about the top. but i can tell you what comes at the bottom. and that is software engineer in a firm that does most of its business in US. late night calls and work are very common. when the kids goto school you have to be in office without doing any work. and when they are back home you start getting calls from onsite members.
I think teaching job can be good. I have left my job but am planning to take up a teaching job once my kids start going to school. The timings for this job mostly will be same as kids. One can leave with her kid and return back with him.
If I get a chance I will try to be a teacher in the school where my kids go
An independent lawyer. Though I am not one. I think this could be perfect profession for working moms. One can take cases at own pace when the kids are young and once the kids grow up they can concentrate on the job.
I am not sure of the exact profession but I think being a freelancer can give one the required flexibility. But this helps only if u have some work ex in the corporate world. Otherwise, no one is willing to give u any work
any freelancer job will be good as long as you have a way of getting the job. otherwise the effort needed to get the business can be painful.
A business run from home like may be a Beauty Parlor.
An interior designer.
One can take break from her work for her child and once her child starts schools she can get back to work.
Being a full time mom is a job in itself.
Oh I am finding it difficult.
one of my friend, who is in corporate media says that all she has to do is to read the newspapers and watch tv to track significant coverage.
that is the job on top of my list.
