Its almost 9 months since I had my son. But since last one month I have not been feeling good. I feel very depressed without any such reason and I also don't feel like eating. Now for last few days I have not been able to sleep as well.
Yesterday when I mentioned this to a friend of mine who is a nurse she said that it might be postpartum depression. And she has suggested me to visit a doctor. Can anyone have Postpartum depressions so many months after delivery?
Anyone who has gone through such experience please share it.
Yes one can get Postpartum Depression even one year after giving birth. The main reason could be that you have totally involved yourself in taking care of the baby and you are not giving any time for yourself.
Sit back and squeeze some time for yourself and if things seem to be going worse consult a doctor.

It could be postpartum depression as you can get it upto 1 year after delivery but mostly it is within 3 months from delivery. As already mentioned by you about no sleep, depression etc. Some more things that you should be observe are whether you are going through some of the following
- Loss in concentration
- Loss in energy
- Not able to take care of you & your baby
- Negative feeling for the baby
- Either worry too much about the baby or no concern for the baby
Have the answers for above and go and meet the doctor.
There is no particular test for this and the doctor also finds out only through your answers for a questionnaire.
Definitely Postpartum Depression is an extreme case of depression in which you have all negative thoughts about your motherhood and you baby. Need to get a remedy for that soon with doctors consultation and am sure you will be fine.
