I have a month old baby and I am breast Feeding. I want to make sure that I am not eating anything that can harm my baby in anyway. So, friends please share the informantion about what not to eat during lactation.
Avoid any spicy food. As it may affect your baby's stomach.
Some of the vegetables like cauliflower, cabbage, garlic etc. which can cause gas should be avoided and baby may feel gassy.
Avoid peanuts if there is a history of any food allergy in family.
Anything containing caffeine can cause sleeplessness and crankiness in the baby. So, better you keep away from such things like coffee, chocolate etc.
Fish which is rich in mercury can have same adverse affects for the baby as it could during pregnancy.
Any spicy food is a big no along with something which may reduce milk supply which includes peppermint and parsley.
Garlic. My younger one used to vomit if I ate anything with garlic. I have heard from few other women that many babies are not comfortable with garlic.
