6 months after I had my second child I came to know that I have Hypothyroidism. Actually after having my baby mostly I used to feel weak and got exhausted very soon. In the beginning I thought it was because of taking care of 2 kids all alone. But 6 months later when I went to doc I was diagnosed with this problem.
Now according to doc I have to be on medicine life long. Has anyone faced something like thing. Do you know of any treatment for this problem.
I have heard that lots of women do have some thyroid problem after delivery. May be you are one of them but make sure you take proper medication. One of my friend tried some Ayurvedic medicine and it helped her. I am not sure what thyroid problem she had will talk to her and try to find out.
My sister had the same problem. She developed Hypothyroidism after her 1st delivery. She has been taking Eltroxin since then.
She tried some homeopathic medicine but it did not help.
ekta, as far as I know it seems u will have to be on medicine the rest of your life.
in most cases the medicine needs to be taken for life. but i have heard that in few cases it gets cured. i think this is just random. nothing that you can bet on.
you will have to moderate the doses initially. get tests done every 15 days or so to see how your body responds to medicine. after 2-3 months you will be able to find right dose. you should still get tests done regularly. and do not change the dose or stop the medicine without tests.
while taking medicine for life is frustrating, i know a cousin of mine who is leading perfectly normal life.
