Are the chances of miscarriage high in the pregnancy after one miscarriage?

Hi All,

Today only I came to know that I am pregnant. Before this a year back I went through a miscarriage and now I am really concerned if I will be able to give birth to this baby properly.

Does anyone have any idea what are the chances of having a miscarriage again after having one. What can I do to prevent this.

I do not know about any practical data but I have a feeling that chances of miscarriage definitely increases after one.

One of my friend had similar condition and as she told me that the chances of miscarriage increases about 20% after having one miscarriage.

My sis-in-law had a miscarriage and then 2nd time when she was expecting she was put yo complete rest as chances of miscarriage was higher the 2nd time.

Definitely the chances are high as I have seen in most cases around me if one has a miscarriage the second time she gets pregnant she is asked to have proper rest and take full care and precautions.
