Teeth problem - can I get it filled during pregnancy

I am almost half way through my pregnancy. Last week one of my filling has come out. And now that teeth is giving me some problems. As far as I know one should not get any dental treatment done during pregnancy. But still wondering if something could be done.
During my second pregnancy I had a similar problem but my dentist instructed me not to get any x ray done. He just advised me to wait till delivery. As my problem was not very severe I did wait. But to be safe I went for a dental checkup at regular intervals.
Hey I remember I did get temporary filling done during my pregnancy. And as far as I am aware temporary filling does not have any chemical that may harm you or the baby.
Though I did not have any such dental problem till now but mostly I have heard that one should not get any filling or RTC done during pregnancy.
And I have been going for regular dental checkup as any major dental problem can be dangerous for the baby.
