I am pregnant with twins and entered the third trimester. Doctor has asked me to take as much rest as possible during this trimester. I have been asked to get a scan done every fortnight. On asking doctor told me that since its twins he needs to keep track of baby's position and proper growth.
Is it really required to go through so many scans?
Congrats for the double bundle of joy.
In case of single baby also many a times doctors do more scans if there is some complication. I do not know what is the appropriate number of scans.
But yes if the doctor is saying do get the scans done for the well being of the baby.
My sis has twins who are an year old now. From what I remember she had to go through more scans. And if I remember right the scans were mostly for checking the position of the babies and also to check if the babies are healthy.
Its very important that things are under control.
Recently I went for regular visit to my doctor. There I met a lady who is expecting twins and she told me that in the third trimester she has to get regular scans to track the growth of her baby. Doctor was telling her that its very important to keep a check on the growth and health of the baby.
I also did not have this idea before meeting the lady expecting twins. So, go ahead and do whatever your doctor suggests. Its very important that your babies are healthy and grow well.
All the Best.
Yes definitely you need to get more scans as in single baby also if there is some complication then we need to get more scans.
Definitely twin pregnancy need more scans compared to a single baby pregnancy. Its very very important to keep track of the growth and well being of the babies.
And if the facility is there then why not avail it.
