What should I do if my elders do not let me shop for the baby to come?

I am so exited and I want to shop from now only and set up a whole room for my baby. But elders in my family believe that we should not buy anything before the birth of the baby. In fact they insist that once the baby is born then only we will baby even a small rattle.
Isn't this injustice to my desire 
What to do I am really sad and I cannot resist myself for so long.
Whats the problem in shopping beforehand. Infact I think its good that you have things in place before the arrival of the baby. So, that when the baby comes you can dedicate full time to her.
I did set up the whole thing for my baby before her arrival and I can tell you it was very convenient. I really wonder why the restriction of now buying things before birth.
Hey I had to go through similar restriction. My parents were also of the same opinion. And I did not do any prior shopping for first 2 kids. But when my youngest was born none of our parents were with us so I did all shopping
Whats the problem in obeying what elders want. You can wait for sometime to setup the room. Maybe you can choose things out in the shops and let your hubby know. Who can get those for your baby after delivery.
Why don't you buy some stuff and put it some friend's place. You may not be allowed to get new things home but I guess you can buy it and keep it at some other place
Sometimes we do have to listen to our elders. We have a similar tradition at my in laws place and I did not buy even a small thing for my kids before birth. In addition to this in our family the first clothes that a baby wears is always an old one worn by some other baby. Now this sounds ridiculous right. But I did follow it
GOD I cannot imagine restricting myself from shopping. Thank God we did not have any such traditions.
Though we have a similar tradition my mil was very good to let me fulfill my wishes
and do shopping.
