when can one start breastfeeding after cesarean birth?

can one start breastfeeding immediately after baby birth in case of cesarean?

or one has to wait until the cut is completely healed?

i don't think you have to wait for breast feeding in cse of cesarean birth. it should be same as normal birth.
physically you should be in sound state. as long as there are no complications to put you down physically, you should be readt to breast feed immediately after birth.

others please correct me this is not correct since my understanding is based on experience and what i hear from others.

C-section delivery has nothing to do with breast feeding. You can start feeding immediately if you are comfortable.

Sometimes milk may take a little longer to come as baby born by cesarean may feel drowsy and lethargic and need some extra encouragement during feeding.
But still you need to start feeding asap as newborn's sucking urge is strongest in the first few hours after birth.

Actually my doctor suggested me to start breastfeeding immediately. These days as doctors use regional anesthetic there is no medical problem in breastfeeding immediately.

Though I had problem in sitting and it was very difficult to hold the baby in proper position for feeding but with few trial I found a position that was good for me and baby. And I have been breastfeeding since the day of delivery.
