I have completed 32 weeks of pregnancy. Mostly I am looking forward to a Vaginal delivery but want to be ready for C-Section as well in the worst case. This is my first pregnancy and I have never had any operation as such in the past. I am wondering how painful can a C-Section be?

At the time of operation you will be on anesthesia but later you will have the pain for someday. A regular pain relief medication will be required. The cut is through many muscles and tissue and I remember the feel of pain inside but did not know where.

A couple of weeks just after the operation is really bad. First week I needed support for everything. Actually my first delivery was vaginal and after having C-section for the next two I can tell you vaginal is much better.

With my due date nearing I am also scared. My first baby was vaginal so don't want to go for C-section this time as well. I pray so.

The operation itself will not be painful due to anesthesia but the pain is felt later and sometimes it can be problematic later as well.

During the procedure you will not feel anything as your body will be numb. I remember that after giving anesthesia, doctor pinched me to see if I could feel it. Once I could not feel they started their job. Only sensation I had was some pricking feeling. The real pain was felt only some hours later and that pain was definitely unbearable.
