hi,

i am into 8th month. everyone i speak to says that doctors are interested in c-section these days. i think there is some truth in this. i know many having delivery through c-section. this was not so common sometime back.

i am scared of c-section. therefore i have decided not to agree for it. please tell me how can i avoid c-section?

thank you for reading.

dipi,

You are so right. Doctors definetly prefer c-section to avoid any complications arising from normal delivery.

For my delivery I was confident to go for normal delivery. Everything was normal with me and my baby so I had talked to my doctor and made sure that she will do the same.

I will suggest you to go for a doctor/hospital who will agree to do normal delivery for you. But before this you should make sure that there is no clinical problems with you or your baby.

I agree with wahida that one should be first sure that all is well with you and your baby. But money-making mentality of doctors is one of the reasons for the increase in no. of deliveries through c-section. I friend of my husband was very confident that his wife could go for a normal delivery and was surprised when the doctor told otherwise. Even after arguing with the doc his wife did not have a normal delivery. I recommend that you find out from friends or relatives who had a normal delivery.

what scares you? fear of scissor? or something else?

i don't think you can do much once the doctor decides either way. in fact i will not feel comfortable if the doctor changes her decision based on my input. in that case she can always blame me for any miss on her part.

not really. partially true. but more than that about complications in future. my aunt has developed lot of complication at very late stage in her life. And she says that this is because of c-section. even few others told me same thing.

So I want to avoid at all cost.

you are right. i had this fear.
therefore what i have decided is to consult 5-6 doctors over nexxt 7 days.

And i will continue my discussion only with doctors who show more inclination for normal delivery. I will not try to influence any doctor during my meeting.
