I am 18 weeks pregnant and still am not gaining enough weight. Before pregnancy I was 47kgs and now after 18 weeks of pregnancy I have just gained 4 pounds which is less. The doctor says that the weight and growth of the baby is fine. But it is very important to gain weight for me.

Everyone at my home is very concerned. I do not even feel like eating a lot like I have heard from others I do not have any cravings. What do I do to gain weight. Please please help me.

trust the doctor. as long as the doctor is happy you are fine. ask the doctor questions. do what he asks you to eat. i am sure you are having multi-vitamin. take any other supplements that the doctor asks you to do. as long as you are eating, you know that your body is getting enough to get going.
good luck and do keep us posted.

If you are not gaining weight in the 2nd trimester it is definitely a concern as it can lead to early delivery/ a small baby. You need to eat more. Eating more just does not mean more in quantity you need have diet rich in calories like dry fruits, cheese, legumes etc. etc.

Apart from regular 3 meals make sure to have snacks every now and then. Snack does not mean chips and cookies for a pregnant woman here also need to pack in calories like smoothies, dry fruits etc.

Apart from eating you need to cut down on your exercise and if you are over exerting yourself there is an urgent need to slow down and take some help.

Have a happy pregnancy.

I hope you are eating well. If you are doing your part you do not need to worry. I remember till my 23rd week of pregnancy I just gained 2 kgs of weight. Was really worried but could not help it. I remember trying all sorts of things. I will say just eat well cut down on exercises and keep healthy. Do not worry too much.
