When should the 2nd tetnus vaccine be taken during pregnancy?

I am six weeks pregnant and just took the first dose of tetanus vaccine yesterday. Doctor has suggested to go for a second tetanus vaccine in next 4-8 weeks. But sometime back in my talk with a friend she told me that she took her 2nd dose of tetanus vaccine in her 3rd trimester.
I am really wondering when is the right time to get the vaccine.
I took the 2nd dose of the vaccine 6 weeks after the 1st one.
For me doctor recommended to take 3 doses of tetanus vaccine and I took 2nd 4 weeks after the 1st and the last dose I took 6 months after the second dose.
parup, can you please tell me why you had to take 3 doses of the vaccine.
I had to take 3 doses of tetanus vaccine because I had not taken full primary series of tetanus vaccine during my childhood. Doctor suggested me to go for 3 doses because of this.
I also took 2 doses of tetanus vaccine. The second one 8 weeks after the first.
